Background: I’ve been a photographer form over forty years, specializing in landscapes and wildlife. I’ve traveled from Alaska to Antarctica to Africa. I started with a makeshift darkroom set up in the bathroom of a two-bedroom apartment in Detroit, developing and producing color prints. I transitioned to digital photography when that medium emerged.
Influences: My Uncle – Tony Spina, a Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer for the Detroit Free Press; and George Williams – a friend and former neighbor.
Artistic philosophy: Anyone can take a picture. What makes photography an art is capturing a moment in time that will never be repeated and creating your own impression of that moment.
