Armed Forces Day Open House

First observed on 20 May 1950, the day was created on 31 August 1949, to honor Americans serving in the five U.S. military branches – the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Coast Guard. Many events across the United States take place on Armed Forces Day to honor Americans in uniform who served their country in times of war and peace.
The Workhouse Military in the Arts Initiative is adding to this celebration by offering free demonstrations and workshops for members of our military, no matter your status (active, retired, veteran..)
Join us on Saturday May 19th from 12pm -3pm
FREE Workshops & Demonstrations in:
Yoga – 2-3pm in building W-11 with Lesley Spalding
Bladesmithing – 12-3pm, in building 9A with our partners “Recovery Forge”
Paint Pouring – 12-3pm, in building W-5 with Military Artist in Residence Cheryl Wilson
Resin Casting – 12-3pm, in building 9A with Military Artist Rene Vincit
Ceramic Handbuilding – 12-3pm in building W-8 with Ceramic Artist Larry Fees
