Create + Sip: Recreating Escher
February 9 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Join us every month for a new Create + Sip experience! Our afternoons of wine and fun offer more than just painting. Each Create + Sip is taught by one of Workhouse’s talented studio artists, so we play with lots of techniques, plus fiber, glass and clay. You’ll have a great time creating (and sipping), resulting in a unique piece of art made by you. Check our Events listings regularly to see what we’ll have next.
With Workhouse artist Wendy Anderson, you’ll explore the unique world of tessellation via its modern master, M.C. Escher. Working with Escher’s piece “Sky and Water,” Wendy will lead you through the steps of creating your own artwork in this age-old style. Tessellations will be created on wooden art palettes with paint.
A glass of wine, beer, (or other beverage) is included. A cash bar will be available for additional beer, wine, soda or water.
(If you’d like, stay with us after 6 p.m. for our monthly Second Saturday Art Walk. All seven of our gallery buildings are open until 9 p.m. with opening receptions for new art shows, refreshments and more.)
