Haunted Trail

October 1 - October 31

Don’t miss our annual haunted trail event this October at the Workhouse Arts Center! Our frightmasters are working on ghoulishly terrifying plans for 2019, so stay tuned for announcements as we get closer to October.

IMPORTANT: Please be aware that this event is VERY popular and there will almost certainly be a wait when you arrive – sometimes a long one. There are usually lots of ways to have fun before it’s your time on the haunted trail, from a bar to food trucks, scary movies, escape room, and more! Also, October weather in Virginia can be…unpredictable, so be sure to dress for the weather and your own comfort. Nights at the haunt can be COLD, possibly even wet or muddy! Don’t forget that this is an outdoor attraction – we want you to be warm and dry and comfy until it’s your turn to enter the haunted trail. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for your ticket purchase (except in the event we cancel a night of the haunt due to weather or other circumstances).

Chosen as 2018’s “#1 Must-See Haunt” in Virginia by thousands of passionate fans at TheScareFactor.com, the haunted trail continues to achieve both popular and critical success, including being chosen as Virginia’s “Top Haunt” in 2016 and runner-up in 2017 by industry experts at FrightFind.com.

In 2019, screams will echo across the 55-acre historic Workhouse campus, built on the grounds of the abandoned and notorious DC Department of Corrections Lorton Reformatory. Our frightmasters will debut redesigned trails, spookier scenes, creepier characters, and more spectacular special effects, all designed to bring our guests’ darkest fears and nightmares to life.
