Canceled – Short Film Showcase
September 28, 2018 @ 7:45 pm - 9:45 pm
NOTE: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED.
In celebration of 10 years of providing unique arts experiences to the community, we invite short filmmakers of all skill levels to showcase their work during an evening of arts, film, music and food! This is a free film screening, open to the public, no tickets required.
The Short Film Showcase will be screened outdoors at the Workhouse Arts Center, during a week-long 10th Anniversary Celebration on Friday September 14 beginning at dusk (approx. 7:45pm) and continuing for approximately two hours (ending approx. 9:45pm). Awards to be presented following the showcase. Recipients need not be present, awards will be announced online
following the showcase.
Submission deadline is Friday September 7 at midnight. Ideally, all films should be approximately 10 minutes in length (to follow the 10th anniversary theme) and
films longer than 20 minutes in length may not be considered. You will be notified via email on/about Sunday September 9 if your film has been accepted.
Submissions may be made by provided private YouTube link, (or other hosting site), DropBox and other such manner. Submissions and questions should be sent to PerformingArts@WorkhouseArts.org Please send the email with a link, and a PDF entry form will be emailed to you. There is no entry fee.
On the evening of the showcase, films rated in G/PG categories will be shown earlier in the night, with PG-13/R towards the end of the evening. Only G, PG, PG13, R and documentaries will be accepted. Any style or genre of film will be accepted, but the submitting filmmaker is solely responsible for assuring original content and/or acquiring rights/licensing for using other source material, imagery, video and/or music. Any use of copyrighted material is solely the responsibility of the submitting filmmaker.
In the spirit of friendly competition, this one-night festival is primarily a showcase, an opportunity for local filmmakers to share their work with the public, and to provide potential networking opportunities for them. That said, there will be a handful of ‘people’s choice style’ awards to be decided by popular vote on the evening of the showcase. The curators (led by local filmmaker Ryan Henry) may also announce special awards.
