Rehearsal Dates
First Rehearsal Wednesday December 19th, Rehearsals will be primarily weekday evenings and weekend daytimes, expecting 2-4 rehearsals per week, depending on role.
Please bring all rehearsal and performance conflicts to the audition. Conflicts will be considered final. No other conflicts will be accepted.

All other roles open and paid per performance at non-union compensation rates. Actors of any ethnicity encouraged to audition.

Character Descriptions
LUCIUS FRETWAY- Male 30-40, a botanist and a man of science. a botanist and a man of science. Intellectual and sensible. In love with Phyllida, but naïve in the ways of romance.

PHYLLIDA SPOTTEHUME- Female, 30s-40s, an anthropologist. Plucky yet determined

HARRY PERCY – Male 30-49, an intrepid explorer. Arrogant, self-assured, and dim. The pinnacle of Victorian manhood.

LUIGI – Male 20-40, a NaKong tribesman. (actor playing this role must be comfortable with improv and physical humor. LUIGI speaks his own language…literally. A NaKong tribesman. Proud of his culture. Very smart and very observant. Must be a strong physical comedian. This role could be played by actors of any ethnicity.

PROFESSOR COPE – Male, 40-59, a herpetologist. Great friends with Professor Walling. An unassuming man, except for his pet cobra, Rosie. A perfect Victorian gentleman, well-mannered and enthusiastic.

PROFESSOR SLOAN- Male, 55-69, an archeo-theologist. Irritable and haughty; he does not like change. Opinionated and often abrasive.

PROFESSOR WALLING – Male, 40-59, a zoologist.

SIR BERNARD HUMPHRIES – Male, 40-59 or older, private secretary to Queen Victoria. private secretary to Queen Victoria. Polished, distinguished and refined. The man you send to sort out the unpleasantness.

BEEBE – Male, 40-59, an explorer. (This actor also plays the Irish Assassin.) an explorer. Stoic and resilient. A strong-willed survivor. Was left behind on one of Percy’s missions and then joined an order of violent monks and has now returned to the club seeking revenge. Plays an Irish Assassin.

COUNTESS GLAMORGAN- a countess and twin sister to PHYLLIDA. (played by the same actress.)

Please note that there are no children’s roles in this production.
