Katie Cassidy, MAD Artist! of the Month

The Lorton Arts Foundation (LAF) and the Association of Interior Design Professionals (AIDP) have come together to create an exciting new program for Workhouse artists. It is a creative program bringing together interior design professionals and artists and, in a Merger of Art Design...creating...MAD Artists!

AIDP will host monthly receptions during the newly established 2^nd Saturday Art Walks at the Workhouse. These receptions will be hosted by regional interior designers who will be on hand to discuss the incorporation of original pieces of art into home and office interior designs. The public is invited to these free receptions and encouraged to bring their interior design and art collecting questions and ideas.

As part of the program, AIDP will also sponsor a MAD Artist! of the Month, chosen from the Workhouse studio artists, and a monthly Designers Choice Award to an artist chosen from the Workhouse Artist Associates and the Workhouse Art Guild who exhibit regularly in Gallery W-16. The designers will work with the MAD Artist! of the Month to create an interior design vignette to display the artist\'s work in a room setting. These vignettes can be viewed in Gallery W-16, First Floor.

The AIDP interior designer working with artist Katie Cassidy is June Shea, owner of Shea Studio Interiors, Inc.
