Introducing December MAD Artist! of the Month John Noffsinger, Studio W-10, #1003! The Lorton Arts Foundation and the Association of Interior Design Professionals (AIDP) have come together to create this exciting program for the Workhouse artists. It is a creative program bringing together interior design professionals and artists, and, in a Merger of Art and Design...creating...MAD Artists! John's work is being featured in an interior design vignette created by AIDP Interior Design Professional Linda Bassert of Masterworks Window Fashions & Design, LLC. See this exhibit in Gallery W-16, first floor. You can find more of John and Linda's work in W-16, 1st floor, as part of this month's special exhibitions. John's work is included in the MAD Artist! Collective Exhibition in the center of the 1st floor gallery. This exhibition features work from the artists who have been chosen as the MAD Artist of the Month! for 2009. Visitors are encouraged to vote for their favorite piece in this collective exhibition. The artist who recieves the People's Choice Award will be designated as the MAD Artist of the Year! Linda's interior design talents shine in her creation of a one-of-a-kind posh pillow that is on view, along with nine other pieces of pillow art, also in the center of the 1st floor gallery. The designer pillows, created and donated by members of AIDP, will be part of the Pillow Talk Silent Auction and Wine Tasting being held Saturday evening, December 12 at 6PM as part of the Collector's Showcase Fundraising Events for the Workhouse. Tickets for the Silent Auction are $25. Beginning in January, AIDP will once again host monthly receptions during the 2nd Saturday Art Walks at the Workhouse. These receptions are hosted by regional interior designers who will be on hand to discuss the incorporation of original works of art into home and office interiors. The public is invited to these free receptsions and encouraged to bring their blueprints, swatches and interior design questions and their art collecting questions and ideas. Mark your calendar for Saturday evening, January 9th for the first 2nd Saturday Art Walk in 2010!
