Featured Exhibition: Skip Lawrence with Homecoming and Diane Santarella with States of Mind Homecoming – “After years of painting landscapes on location I am now coming home to the people and places I am more passionate about. Some are paintings of places I resonate with, most are of my family and friends. In each painting my affection for these people goes far beyond a report of the visual truth.” Skip Lawrence States Of Mind – A series of paintings exploring the graphic, visual experience of meditation,migraines, dreamscapes, and the organization of mental minutiae. Santarella works in mixedmedia on paper and canvas with a distinct mark that recalls zen calligraphy and graffiti. The resulting paintings are quiet, complex and subtly challenging. The exhibition will be located in the Vulcan Gallery, Gallery W-16, first floor. There will be a reception to celebrate the opening of this exhibition on Saturday, October 25 from 4PM until 6PM. The exhibition and the reception are free. The Workhouse Arts Center’s Gallery W-16 is open Wednesday-Saturday, 11AM to 7PM and Sunday, 12PM to 5PM.
