For over 25 years, I have been an award-winning; art director, graphic designer and illustrator for many agencies, corporations, associations, and publishing companies. Currently I am represented by a couple of creative agencies, and I also maintain my own small in-house, graphics studio––P. Chisholm Studio––in Reston.

During this time period I have also carved out time for my development as an artist. In addition to my degree in Arts Education (SUNY-NY); master-level credits in education from the University of Virginia; and advanced studies in photography and graphic design, I have studied with professional artists such as; Daniel Greene, Albert Handel, Danni Dawson, Robert Liberaci, and most recently with Brenda Belfield.

I am a member of various arts organizations, among them; Workhouse Arts Center at Lorton, AIM: Artist-in-Motion (Founding Member), The Art League, League of Reston Artists (LRA), Greater Reston Arts Center (GRACE), and Washington Project for the Arts (WPA). I have received numerous awards including Honorable Mention from The Art league, Alexandria, VA, and Best in Show from LRA. My paintings and photographs are in private collections in; Denver, CO; Paris, France; Zagreb, Croatia; Tampa, Fl.; North and South Carolina, Virginia, New York City, and Sag Harbor, NY.

In the past few years I have started to teach. Currently I am an Adjunct Professor in the Graphic Communication Department, NVCC-Loudoun Campus. I also am an independent Instructor, and contract with a national firm, teaching software programs such as, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, to working adults.
