Statement

Working with glass is an adventure. An evolution of design through exploration and experimentation. New discoveries produce original art. In graphic design for over 30 years, I've found new passion creating mosaics and kilnforming glass. The intricacies of texture, depth, dimension and color make the journey rewarding.

Glass half full!

Bio

Born in 1958, Salem, Massachusetts was first of many homes. A child of a ‘Coastie' (US Coast Guard), my family traveled the coasts of America. From North Carolina to California, Alaska to Texas. The memories are rich, influencing my interests, my art, my life.

In 1980 I graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a degree in Visual Communications. I've been self employed since 1990 as a graphic artist / designer / photographer and more recently as a glass artist.

My love for glass started long ago. Creating with glass began in fall of 2008 with classes in mosaics. Fusing, casting, flameworking and glassblowing followed. Currently a resident artist at the Workhouse Arts Center's Glasshouse, Studio 712 in Lorton, Virginia, I also share Studio 25 at LibertyTown Arts Workshop in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
