I enjoy the challenge and flow of the creative process and hope you enjoy my work.
Suzanne Clifford-Clark was born in Illinois, and grew up living around the world in such places as the Caribbean and South America. She spent her teenage years in Sydney, Australia where she briefly attended the Julian Ashton School of Art. Their emphasis on the 19th Century Atelier system of study has been a lifelong influence. She later studied with James Prohl, a Classical Realist painter, from whom she learned the craft of drawing and painting.
Throughout her career, she has been featured in numerous group shows with organizations such as Wisconsin Women in the Arts. She participated in their Biennial traveling exhibition which toured art and cultural centers across the Midwest. She was also part of a two-man show at the Fanny Garver Gallery in Madison, WI, and is currently represented at the Elaine Erickson Gallery in Milwaukee, WI.
Since moving to Fairfax Station, VA in 1999, she was accepted at and sold works through the Artist's Undertaking Gallery in Occoquan, VA. Additionally, she has participated in juried shows at the Aldie Mill and with the Clarke County Historical Society. She keeps busy with her horse and muse, Levi.
