The Workhouse Arts Center is a one of a kind location! Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, it was once home to the DC Workhouse and Prison. The campus began its transformation in 2007 with the addition of artist studios, galleries, a theater, and performance spaces. The Lucy Burns Museum will open this fall and pay homage to the Suffragists imprisoned at the Workhouse in 1917. Both the main galleries and grounds are available for weddings and events.

So why should you choose an art gallery as the venue for your special day? Surround yourself and your guests with art and culture as you say your vows! Our galleries create a unique, once-in-a-lifetime backdrop to your day that you and your guests will remember. Plus, our galleries create an intimate, romantic and elegant vibe that is perfect for weddings of all sizes.

For our art-loving couples, custom wedding packages are available, including art demonstrations by our campus artists. The options are endless!

But why take our word for it? See for yourself! These gorgeous photos represent just a few of the magic moments that can be created at the Workhouse for your wedding ceremony or reception. Call us today to take a venue tour at the Workhouse at 703-584-2951!
