The Workhouse Arts Center hosts multiple events throughout the year to engage our community and promote the Arts.

Launched from our historic, 55-acre campus, the region’s largest pre-Independence Day fireworks show celebrates the history of this amazing nation and honors the courage and sacrifice that have made America a beacon of hope and freedom around the world. A nearly 30-minute fireworks show follows our Rizer Pavilion musical performance by the US NAVY BAND and will dazzle visitors with an incredible display of vibrant colors, bright lights, and ground-shaking explosions.

The Workhouse is bringing businesses to the community!

We’ve partnered with the South Fairfax Chamber of Commerce to help rebuild the local business community by offering our unique venue to market and sell their goods and services. Check out this great article about the Community Market from the Connection Newspaper.

We also wanted to create a space for people to gather safely, enjoy a great atmosphere and support local business and the arts! So come out Saturday mornings, hike the nearby trails, check out the market, grab some food and enjoy our campus! The Lucy Burns Museum is open 12-5 pm and some of our artist galleries will be open as well.

The Community Market is Saturdays from 11am – 4pm and will return Spring 2021!

Join us from 6:00 – 9:00 pm on the Second Saturday of each month to discover all the Workhouse Arts Center has to offer. Whether it’s your first visit or your hundredth, the Second Saturday Art Walk is the perfect time to meet nearly 100 Resident and Associate Artists, creating art in the studios or exhibiting in our galleries.

Second Saturday is currently being held virtually.

Brewfestl features more than 100 craft brews by 40 breweries. We are excited to highlight many of our local brewers. The day will feature a dozen bands performing on three stages, numerous food trucks, lawn games, and of course, our artists will be in their galleries, which are open for you to explore.

Our annual Haunted Trail held weekends in October pulls together all levels off performing arts to create one of the most popular Halloween events in the region.

Our annual Gala held in November is your opportunity to support the Workhouse and enjoy an evening with dinner, music, dancing and more.

Collect! is your opportunity to collect (one or more) of nearly 70 original works of art, enjoy an evening of  fun, cocktails and dancing, and support the mission of the Workhouse.

Art is created by the acclaimed community of Workhouse artists and you expand your personal collection when you win; select from original paintings, sculpture, photography, fiber arts, jewelry, ceramics, and more. Pick your favorite – every piece in the collection will be awarded.
