EqualiTEA

In celebration of Mother’s Day, the Lucy Burns Museum is hosting a morning Mother’s Day EqualiTEA to honor both the important women in our lives and the women important to the suffrage movement. Tea and tea parties are deeply ingrained in the history of the woman’s suffrage movement, from planning to fundraising. Tea enthusiast Nancy Rodriguez of Cup & Crown shares the history of tea from England to the US and how the suffragists incorporated it into their cause, while participants enjoy a variety of black teas and breakfast pastries. A special tour of the Lucy Burns Museum, with its exhibition commemorating the suffragists who were imprisoned at the Workhouse in 1917, follows the tea.
