Magnificent Distances by the DC Street Photography Collective

Vulcan Gallery, W-16 1st Floor
On View: April 27 - July 21, 2024
Reception: June 8, 6-8pm

The political arena often dominates the narrative surrounding the nation’s capital. Stereotypical images of power-hungry politicians give an impression that the District is a dark and serious place full of evildoers and over achievers. This exhibition is a collaborative effort to humanize our hometown of Washington, DC. Magnificent Distances aims to add a second DC narrative to our country’s collective consciousness, one that shows a lighter side amidst the tumultuous backdrop — a place where ordinary people live their lives, unperturbed by the federal shadow.

Curated by Tom Woodruff.
