Workhouse Arts Center and Fairfax County Public Schools are proud to present the 19th Annual Fairfax County Public School Artist Teacher Exhibition.

Between Light & Shadow explores the terrain between illumination and obscurity—both literal and metaphorical.

The exhibition considers how light and shadow function as visual phenomena, emotional states, and social or political metaphors. The work examines the tensions between presence and absence, truth and uncertainty, visibility and erasure, hope and struggle. Across the exhibition, light and shadow shape narratives of power, identity, memory, resistance, and transformation.

This all-media exhibition features artist-teachers from Fairfax County Public Schools, showcasing the vibrant creative practices of art educators who inspire the next generation.
