The Art of Letting Go - Sound Bath with Iris McCray

The Art of Letting Go

‘The art of letting go’ is the purpose of the Sound Bath in October.

The necessity and simplicity of ‘letting go’ is often overlooked in the strive to satisfy the next objective or when we find ourselves in a senseless void. Albeit, ‘letting go’ and ‘receiving’ are two essential aspects of how energy flows much like the exhale and the inhale of the breath, our focus seems to be one-sided.

Common signs for an invitation to ‘let go’ are excess of physical accumulations, bodily pain and tension, emotional hurts, compulsive thinking or a feeling of overwhelm. Ignoring these indications for long burdens us unnecessarily and keeps tremendous energy locked away which otherwise would find much better use in our favor.

How then can relaxation help us with letting go when there is so much to do?

When we truly relax, we access an underlying truth within, freed from the interferences of the restless mind. From that deeper connection with ourselves we naturally begin to let go of the stories and activities which sustain the problem. We then return to our natural flow where releasing even a minuscule thing can start a cascade of positive subsequent events – hence the ripple effect.

One of the most graceful ways to deeply relax is through sound and its harmonizing effect on the whole being. Featured this month are fascinating vibrations of innovative Rain Sticks & Rain Disc, soothing sounds of Crystal Singing Bowls, the stabilizing acoustic field of the Sound Pyramid among other sound healing instruments.
