Apply for the WMAI Artist Residency Program

The Workhouse Military in the Arts Initiative (WMAI) supports active-duty service members, veterans, and reservists in their creative growth through a two-year artist residency at the Workhouse Arts Center. This program provides dedicated studio space, exhibition opportunities, and professional development within a vibrant community of working artists.
Program Highlights:
Two-year residency term with a private studio on campus. Glass and Ceramic applicants may be given Open Studio time instead if a studio is unavailable.
Professional exhibition opportunities, including a final capstone show
Mentorship and community engagement through the WMAI network
Optional teaching and outreach opportunities in collaboration with the Education Department
Eligibility:
Open to active-duty military, veterans, retirees, and reservists (not open to family members).
Term: Visual Arts - maintain a campus studio for 2 years. Glass and Ceramic may be given Open Studio time if a studio is unavailable.
How to Apply:
Applicants will be evaluated by a jury panel based on artistic composition, concept, technical skill, originality, and professional practice.
