A layered dialogue about identity formation, resilience, and the human experience in relation to Black masculinity.

Greene examines the visible and invisible scars of Black men shaped by systemic struggles, generational trauma, and social expectations, situating them at the intersection of nature and nurture. A key theme of the exhibition is the exploration of relationships—both biological and chosen—and how they influence one’s sense of self. Greene examines the strength found in camaraderie and kinship, emphasizing the role these bonds play in providing support and resilience amid life’s challenges. At the same time, he interrogates the potential limitations these relationships may face within environments that seek to define or constrain individuals.

The exhibition poses a question about whether these bonds can transcend the external forces that often try to impose identity. Stories About My Brothers offers a layered dialogue about identity formation, resilience, and the human experience in relation to Black masculinity.

By blending his personal history with collective struggles, Greene provides a platform for underrepresented voices, encouraging a deeper conversation about place, identity, and perseverance.

Explorations of resilience, survival, and identity through personal experience and broader societal influences.
