The Weather in Here is a show about how to endure living through unpredictable and unprecedented times. These works, heavy with allegory and narrative context, are accompanied by a zettlekasten-esque contextualization that walks the viewer through a web of ideas as they coalesce into visual form. With moments of humor and provocation, it highlights the chasm between who we say we are, the ways we behave in contradiction, and the mental toll it inflicts to live within so liminal a space.

Ava Beckman is a visual artist and art teacher in Northern Virginia focusing on figurative and nature themes, infused with allegory and humor.
