The Workhouse Arts Center relies on a strong team of dedicated volunteers to ensure our arts, education, history, and community programs run smoothly. Opportunities change over time, but can include: special and regularly occurring events, curator and exhibition management support, museum docents, office and facility support, and more! Volunteer Opportunities

Below is a list of volunteer opportunities across campus and what they could include.

  • Front desk greeter and receptionist at our artist buildings. Training required.

  • Help us host Fireworks, Fall Festival, and more!

  • Help with event set-up and take-down, assist event managers.

  • Assist our curator with painting walls and pedestals. Must be able to lift 50lbs.escription

  • Share the history of Lorton/Occoquan Workhouse and Prison Facility with visitors. Training and minimum time commitment required.

  • Front and back of house, scare actors, and more!
