Philosophy

Yunkyoung Cho’s work investigates memory, migration, and the narratives embedded in everyday objects. She is drawn to the tactile and transformative qualities of fabric, yarn, paint, and three-dimensional forms, using them to create layered, immersive compositions. Cho’s practice reflects a dialogue between materiality and meaning, exploring how personal and cultural histories intersect. Influenced by traditional craft, contemporary textile art, and cross-cultural storytelling, she seeks to transform ordinary materials into vessels of reflection and connection. Her work invites viewers to consider the subtle traces of human experience and the ways objects carry memory across time and space.
