A dreamlike window into the inimitable beauty of various flora & fauna

Lydia Semenov is a self-taught artist born and raised in Northern Virginia. She grew up hiking around the Shenandoah mountains and has a B.S. in biology that has taken her to the beautiful deserts of Nevada for various jobs, which heavily influenced her artwork.

Solipsis is a collection of work done from 2022-2024 that offers viewers a dreamlike window into the inimitable beauty of various flora and fauna, often highlighting species who aren’t usually viewed as beautiful or praiseworthy. Lydia’s art style mixes realism with the abstract, using micron pens and black gouache to create both bold and textually detailed visuals. She does not use animal products in the creation of her pieces.
