Donte’s process embodies the survival mode he embraced during his tumultuous upbringing. Through craft, he feels the stability he yearned for by combining thrown and hand built forms, interweaving geometric shapes to articulate clarity amidst the chaos.

The Workhouse began as a Progressive Era reformatory and gained visibility by holding suffragist Lucy Burns. Admission is free; guided cellblock tours are available.

Beyond is a collaboration between Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University to exhibit juried foundations artwork that moves beyond boundaries to explore the multifaceted notions of freedom, play, and experimentation.
Singularity is a showcase of George Mason's School of Art Junior and Senior art students. Students were invited to submit proposals which asked them to think critically about their place in the world as they prepare to enter society as professional culture-makers, and to show work that challenges systems permanently altered.
